This beautiful old farmhouse has wonderful views of the fjord and amazing sunsets in the evening. It is located in the village of Bysheim, on the inland island of Osterøy and is well over 100 years old. Osterøy, with its deep fjords, mountains and fertile valleys, has been described as ‘a Norway in miniature’. The house offers a peaceful and quiet location, but with an easy drive to Bergen and for daytrips to Voss, Hardanger and Flåm. There is a boat for hire and in the fjord you can catch cod, pollack, mackerel, haddock and sometimes even salmon and seabass. There are many mountain walks nearby, or if you are interested in culture you can visit Ole Bull’s summer house at Valestrand, the protected hamlet of Havråtunet near Bruvik, Osterøy Museum and the medieval church at Hamre. The house does not have a TV.
