The former island of Wieringen lies in extreme North Holland. It is an extraordinary spot in the Netherlands with a hilly, open landscape that is very different from the surrounding polder landscapes with paths that pass through the fields and along the boulders. The holiday park is a small park with different types of accommodations and it gives a feel of earlier times. It has a camping area with 100 permanent parking spaces, a hotel with ten rooms and a couple of comfortable villas and cottages. Het Lagerhuys is an inn with a cosy bar, cafe, snack bar and a restaurant and is centrally located in the holiday park. Children can play to their hearts content in a playground with a bouncy castle. In the Wellnesshuys, you can relax in various saunas, a hot tub and a steam room (for a fee). An entertainment programme is also offered throughout the peak season and a corn maze is available beside the park during summer. The park is adjacent to a bank of the Wadden Sea. Here, you can use your own boat on the water. Several other water sports are also available in Den Oever. Approximately 15 exclusive cottages were built in 2008 at a particular location of the park, right on the bank. This holiday villa is built on a large, open area and is designed to look 100 years old. The atmosphere of an old fishing village is created through a lot of beautiful details such as the design of the paths with paving stones and shells. This type-F house is also equipped with a private hot tub in the garden, which cannot be used during freezing condition.
