This enormous farm dating back to 1848 is located at the edge of the village Lutjegast. This characteristic Frisian farmhouse stands in its own grounds of about 80,000 square metres (of which about 1/10th is yard and garden and the rest are estates and nature reserves). The farmhouse, which was a listed building, was given residential status in 1990. The completely restored farmhouse has a beautiful English style garden in front and an enclosed garden with fruit trees and plant beds. Cattle that are specific to the region and the Fjord Horse Nanse graze in the pastures. A couple of owls have taken shelter in the large barn and they rear baby owls there annually. There are wonderful cycling and hiking trails in the vicinity, so you can explore the beautiful surroundings. You can visit the city of Groningen with its lively centre, where you will find many shops, restaurants and cafes. You can also visit the Groninger Museum, which is only 20 minutes away by car or Dokkum with its historical city centre, not far away. The owner of the farm has two spacious apartments on the farm. They are very tastefully furnished with modern, high quality furniture, yet retaining the historical character of the building.
