Holiday lettings on the largest and greenest of the Canary Islands enchant every visitor with beautiful beaches, eternal sunshine and an incredibly lush inland vegetation. The steady pleasant weather (26°C) makes it possible to enjoy a holiday here any season you like. Most Tenerife beaches are of volcanic origin. There are also beaches with white sand, which are very popular. Playa de la Arena, a 100-metre-long Blue Flag beach with fine black sand is one of the most well-known beaches on Tenerife. Other famous beaches are the 800-metre-long Playa Las Vistas with light grey sand and Playa de las Teresitas, covered with fine white sand imported from the Sahara desert.
The landmark of the capital of Tenerife, Santa Cruz, is the beautiful Iglesia de San Marcos, a 15th century church with three naves. In Santa Cruz, you will also find many museums, theatres and exhibitions. Historical sights are also found in the town of La Laguna. They include a cathedral from the 17th century, designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the oldest university in Tenerife.
Visitors seeking entertainment prefer holiday lettings in Las Americas. Bustling streets, dance bars and wild parties with live music define the vibrant nightlife of the resort. Six beaches inter-connected with a promenade serve as a relaxing after-party retreat. Las Americas is a good destination for water sports enthusiasts. Besides the usual pursuits such as diving, surfing or water skiing, you can try bungee jumping or swimming with the dolphins in a local water park.
The Lolo Parque in Porto de la Cruz is a popular amusement park for both children and adults. It features playful penguins, a dolphin show and a program with parrots from around the world. Siam Park, a scenic park full of water attractions, is another fantastic place to go. The attractions range from a relaxing lazy river inflatable boat ride to a swimming pool with 3-metre-tall waves and a kamikaze slide which ends in a glass tunnel in a pool of sharks.
Pico del Teide, a 3,718 metres high peak in the interior, is the highest point in all of Spain. The dormant volcano is accessible via a cabin lift, from which you can observe how the landscape changes with elevation. As you go up, the green laurel and juniper growth slowly gives way to a volcanic moonscape. Teide National Park is a great place for a hike on one of the signposted trails, which are available in a range of difficulties.
Whether you opt for an apartment letting or a holiday home, the lovely greenery and the 140 spectacular beaches lining the entire island of Tenerife guarantee the ideal conditions for you to have a good time.
